Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.
Thank you for helping us honor the memory of beloved pets. Your contributions make a meaningful difference.

To my darling Katie,
How I will miss your love, so innocent and pure. And how I will miss the joy you showed when I'd get home and open the door. You'd greet me with your favorite toy, so excited and eager to play. And no matter how I was feeling, you always made my day. You looked at me with eyes so wide and eyes so fill

To my darling Katie,
How I will miss your love, so innocent and pure. And how I will miss the joy you showed when I'd get home and open the door. You'd greet me with your favorite toy, so excited and eager to play. And no matter how I was feeling, you always made my day. You looked at me with eyes so wide and eyes so filled with love. And even when I wouldn't play, you never held a grudge. Though you never spoke a word, you always made yourself so clear. Those big brown eyes, that silly look, I always knew, my dear.
For many years, you never knew the world held any harm. You didn't know of illness and you didn't know of pain. The only thing you didn't like was walking in the rain. But even when the bad times came, my darling, you were brave. In spite of how hard the struggle was, all you had left, you gave. You filled our home with love and joy and a little mischief too and for all of my remaining days, my heart is one with you. We've grown so close in mind and heart that it seems so cruel for us to part yet the bond we share can never end, my darling Katie, my angel, my friend.
I place you now in the hands of God to care for and protect you. I ask for a loved one too to play you favorite sock tug with you and let you win so you think you're though and to love you and spoil you, my darling friend, until it's my pleasure to do so again.

Romeo was a well-loved dog from the beginning and brought lots of love and laughter to our home. A proud and obstinate dog, he more than likely thought himself human which was clearly exemplified by his sitting at the table, lounging on the sofa and sleeping in bed with other family members. His adorable looks and big brown eyes captivated all our hearts and he was thus spoiled. Although he found trouble from time to time, he more often kept us laughing with his cuteness and puppy-like manners. He was more than our best friend; he was a member of the family. Romeo will be thought of often, and missed even more.

My Buddy came to me as the best surprise gift in 2010 and my life has been enriched by the love, devotion and loyalty given to me by my Buds. Buddy enjoyed his morning and evening walks around our neighborhood and everyone luved Budds. This handsome senior fella captured my heart hook, line and sinker and gave me a new found passion for our senior fur domestics. Anyone who doesn't know the luv of a senior fur companion is missing out on the best that our canine fur domestics will pour out on you; their devotion, their sheer delight in their eyes when they see you. My Buddy showed me how to open my heart to love again after our Naomi (a YAS shelter pup) passed on several years before. Life will never be the same without Buddy sharing my life's journey. Buddy had his own special style and personality and I am forever grateful that Buddy picked me. My Buddy "rescued me" when he was almost 13 years old living at Elmsford Shelter for all those years; life will never be the same and I will miss him and love him forever.

Pearl died on March 17, 2014
On St. Patrick's Day
Pearl was a lovely golden retriever with a great spirit. Adopted at 4 1/2 yrs by a new family, she very quickly started to train her new owners into how she wanted things run. Training took awhile but finally it all fell into place. Long walks with plenty of opportunities to explore. Pearl was always open to sampling whatever was being prepared in the kitchen, whether it was sliced ham or turkey pieces or sliced french bread. She never met a bowl of coffee ice cream that she did not like. Whether for a lick or a small scoop. Pearl will be missed by her family and friends. All this proves is that a 110 lb.Alpha female can be a joyful addition to a family. Pearl was 10 1/2 years old.
